Cowboys lose in playoffs AGAIN

It is not easy to write about the Cowboys after a performance like they turned in today.  Tony Romo looked flustered and pressured the entire 4th quarter, and the receivers just flat didn’t show up.  I guess this is going to be an easy Super Bowl year for the Pat’s after all.  I have never seen Romo look as flustered as he did today; I guess the new contract made him believe that he had to do the entire job himself.  The Colts were in the same predicament that the Cowboys were in during the 4th quarter of their game but Peyton didn’t panic the way Tony did.  No the Colts didn’t win either but at least they went down with a real fight.

Frustrating……………….

I loves me some me

Terrell Owens really has matured and it was obvious when he was being interviewed by Dion Sanders and Dion asked him to say his famous line “I loves me some me”.  Terrell had a hard time saying it because he knows it’s not how he is anymore.  Terrell has finally turned into a team player in every sense of the word.  Okay the dropped pass kinda sucked but he did tackle the interceptor and no real harm came from it.  I will take the dropped passes as a part of his game, because of all of the good that he is bringing this year.  Keep up the great attitude Terrell.  Dion you are an idiot always have been and always will be, you single handedly make me not want to watch the NFL channel.  When you started talking about the Cowboys not being able to put away Green Bay I wanted to puke.  The Cowboys were never afraid of Green Bay and were toying with them, going on fourth down when they could have kicked a field goal and not really caring that they didn’t make it showed the total lack of respect they had for Green Bay.  The Cowboys were never in danger of losing that game and Dion if you thought anything other than that you truly need to go find another profession, may I suggest pimp you seem to like the roll.

Tony “Rick” Romo continues to impress me more with every game he plays.  I do understand he is partially a product of the great overall offensive juggernaut that the Cowboys have become, but you have to have a good leader and Tony Romo is the right person to lead this team.  Congratulations on a Cowboys single season TD completions record Tony Romo, you deserve the praise and the contract.  It has been a long time since the Cowboys have had a quarterback that didn’t make me cringe every time he dropped back to pass ala Vinny Testeverde and Quincy Carter, good God I am glad they are gone.  11-1 with just 4 games to go and the Cowboys look like a lock for home field in the play offs.  I sure hate to be looking forward to the playoffs because it means the season is almost over but with a team like this it sure is fun to look forward to.  I loves me some Cowboys.

It’s Cowboy Time

Yes it is Cowboy time again ladies and gentlemen, but first I have to talk about my man Adrian Peterson.  I know you have heard it before on this blog, but Adrian is without question the best rookie running back I have ever seen.  I am going one step further and will say that he is the best running back in the league this year.  There is not another man I would rather build my running game around that has stepped on the field this year.  By the numbers Adrian had 296 rushing yards, the highest single game rushing total ever in the NFL.  Really that’s enough right there, the best game ever.  Through 8 games Adrian has 1,036 rushing yards and has averaged 6.6 yards per carry.  Adrian also has 12 receptions on the year for 206 yards averaging 17.2 yards per reception.  But wait there’s more Adrian also runs back kicks to the tune of 324 yards for an average of 24.9 yards per return.  Add it all up and you get 1,566 all purpose yards through 8 games.  Truly amazing stats for a rookie.  I am not blind and know that eventually he will hit that rookie wall and his crappy team will catch up with him, but for now I just have to give the man the credit he deserves.  I wish you didn’t have to put on that ugly purple uniform every Sunday Adrian, but I guess that’s the price of going high in the draft.

Now for the Cowboys.  The 60 million dollar man comes through with another terrific performance.  Romo completed 20-25 for 324 yards with 3 touchdowns and had a rating of 141.7.  Like Adrian Peterson, Tony Romo is just one of those special players that don’t come along very often.  And like Adrian there is not another player I would want to have on my team more than Tony.  Blasphemy I am sure to everyone who loves Peyton and Tom, but hear me out.  Yes Peyton and Tom are proven winners, and would be an asset to any organization.  If I am starting a team tomorrow and my first pick is Adrian then Peyton and Tom are already gone when it comes back to me, so I choose a guy who just loves to play the game.  I would stick by Tony through a game like he had in Buffalo just like Jerry Jones did when he gave him the big contract, because we both see a guy who loves to play and will do everything he can to win a game.  Take a look around the rest of the league and show me a better quarterback playing right now.  What Tony does for the Cowboys isn’t being done anywhere else in the league anywhere.

Emmett Smith for some really stupid reason has not been considered the best running back of all time because of the offensive line he had in front of him.  So I have to inject that Tony is better than Tom or Peyton because of the mass of talent that those two have around them.  Tony does more with less than either of those two guys.  Sure T.O. is a talent but Marvin Harrison and Randy Moss are the premier receivers in the league.  Randy Moss may just be the most talented receiver ever, but he is a stupid jackass who has refused to live up to his potential, and a lot like T.O. might just have finally matured.  Maybe that is not enough to convince you but it is enough to convince me and having Tony around makes me proud to be a Cowboy fan again.

To the Denver Bronco’s fans, I sincerely hope for your sake that Jay Cutler is out for the rest of the season, it will be a blessing to for you.  I know how passionate the Bronco’s fans are so I really do wish the fans well, but good grief Jay Cutler couldn’t care less as you can tell by the look on his face every time he takes the field so why would you care about having him on your team?  Almost makes you wish Jake Plummer were still a Bronco.  Well maybe things aren’t quite that bad.

Cowboys win again

The Dallas Cowboys held Adrian Peterson in check and won for the 5th time in 6 tries this season. Tony Romo managed the game well and didn’t throw any interceptions in a game that should have been a lot more lopsided than the final score showed. Terrell Owens really has matured into a real teammate and didn’t cause the derailment of a season that could have been on the brink after the loss to New England. What can you say about the Cowboys other than this looks like a real team finally. The past few years the Cowboys have just looked like another average team, but this year they are finally rounding into a complete team. And really what I think about it is what a relief. It can be hard on a fan that expects or desires great thing for their team and ends up with mediocrity. Finally this team has the ability to be great. The Cowboys have tough tests coming up in the next 3 weeks but I am confident they will step up to the challenge once again.

So I was watching the game and doing of all things at the same time, installing a new disposal. Ah the joys of home ownership. Sometimes it seems like there is a never ending list of things to do to maintain a house, but usually it is when you would just rather be doing anything else. I got the new disposal installed and running but crawling under a sink is the last thing I want to do while the Cowboys are playing. Just so you know I had to install the new disposal because somebody decided to ruin the last one by cleaning out the pool filter and jamming it with sand and grit. People really do some stupid things. Alright it was me but I have an excuse. I am flipping stupid. Now there are only 2 big chores to get finished before the Halloween party next Saturday. Yippee!

I made a comment to my wife’s uncle today after he mentioned that the Cardinals were getting beat up on by the Redskins that I preferred when the Cardinals kept the game close and then lost on a last second field goal. Well it didn’t happen quite like that but the result was the same. Cardinals get a chance to kick a last second field goal to win and miss wide left. Not quite as good but I can live with it as long as they are starting to feel demoralized like all of the previous 14 teams have during the time I have lived here. The Cardinals are cursed there is no question about it and as long as the Bidwells own this team they will never win a Super Bowl. Which is perfectly fine with me.

15-1 aint half bad (Cowboys perfect seaon comes to an end)

Well for the first time this season the Cowboys have lost a game. I didn’t really think that they would go 16-0 but they still have a shot at 15-1 so I am still happy. I think the boys played about as well as could be expected after the Monday night debacle in Buffalo. I just think that at this point in time New England is just the better team. In fact I think New England may be on of the best teams I have ever seen play the game. Yes the Cowboys of the early 90’s were incredible but New England has one of those special teams that no matter how much you hate them you just can’t root against em. Now it’s back to the drawing board and sincerely hoping that the Cowboys don’t lose confidence after 2 poor showings. Losing confidence would be a terrible thing to happen at this point in the season. No matter what their record is, I think it is vital that they win their next game. Yes I really did say vital. Football is one of those games that when things go wrong they tend to stay wrong for long stretches if you don’t have the confidence to make them turn around.

The Cowboys really did play well today and against any other team I think they would have won, but that doesn’t mean that this team won’t see it differently. Hopefully the team will rally and keep things light in practice and not let this game get into their heads. I guess I wouldn’t be worried about it if I thought they had really strong leadership but I just don’t know which path Terrell Owens will take. Hopefully he will continue to be the man that I think he is growing into and will stay strong for this team and not get accusatory and bring the moral of the whole team down. As a complete outsider all I can do is hope for the best and also continue to stay positive for this team. This Cowboy team really is the class of the NFC and I hope they will continue to prove it on Sundays.

Just a side note my Sooners kicked some Missouri butt on Saturday and with Cal and LSU losing they should be right back in the national title hunt in a couple of weeks. And congratulations to the Cardinals, they got beat by freaking Vinny Testaverde. I just have to laugh at the way the Cardinals continue season after season to find their way right back to mediocrity. The only person I feel sorry for on that team is Kurt Warner, he went down with another injury early in the game and from what I saw may not return for a while. Okay I also feel sorry for Adrian Wilson not only does he continue to get bad calls against him, but without Anquan Boldin he is the only real force the team has. Anquan and Adrian just a small piece of advice from someone you don’t know, forget the money difference when it’s time to sign go to a team that actually has a chance of winning for your own sanity. Save your money now and you will live comfortably forever and go sign with another team for less money. In fact I think both of you would fit very comfortably in Cowboy uniforms.

Speaking of Adrian, oh my god I wish I had watched my man Adrian Peterson play today. 224 yards on 20 carries against the anointed Bears defense. 361 all purpose yards, not only a rookie record but the 3rd highest all time. I wish your weren’t wearing purple Adrian. Hopefully you will play out your contract and also like Wilson and Boldin get a chance to play for a real team. A team that doesn’t wear fruity ass purple. Ravens purple is actually intimidating but Minnesota’s is just flat out weak. Wow come to think of it that’s another person who would fit nicely into a Cowboys uniform. I can dream.

Cowboys win 5th straight

Maybe the Cowboys deserved to lose that game but I guarantee the bills didn’t deserve to win. Sorry I don’t have time for the big breakdown of the game I am busy with another project right now. But I had to say I am really looking forward to the Patriot v Cowboys match up. My prediction: Cowboys 34 Patriots 31.

A Sunday without the Cowboys

It almost feels like the Cowboys by week. I know they play on Monday night but still a Sunday without the Cowboys is not the way I want to spend football season. The good news is that I got to see two other teams I have great respect for, the Colts and the Chargers. Peyton Manning is incredible. I know there are a lot of Tom Brady lovers out there, but I believe Peyton is unquestionably the leagues premier quarterback; there is nothing he can’t do. And everything he does he does well. I am not taking anything away from Tom but Peyton is the man.

Guess who is not the man. Jay Cutler is not the man. I seriously believe that this kid has a serious mental defect. The look on his face reminds me of Corky, the kid with Downs Syndrome. I am absolutely not trying to make fun of people with mental defects; I believe that Jay Cutler has Downs Syndrome. And if the Broncos have not had him tested then they should. Either that or give that lifeless lump of crap a shot of adrenalin before each game to get him up for the game. I know the NFL is a serious business but I have never seen a winner who didn’t have fun playing the game. Jay reminds me of a kid whose father is forcing him to play the game against his will. Jay looks like he hates the game and would rather be anywhere than on that field. Good luck winning with Corky at quarterback Broncos. San Diego 41 Broncos 1 freaking field goal. HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

More tomorrow after the Cowboy kick some Buffalo butt.

Dallas Cowboys still perfect

It’s Sunday so of course I have to talk about the Dallas Cowboys perfect season. Isaac Bruce guarantees that the Rams will win this game, and gets his ass handed to him. Isaac I’m sure this was just a ploy to fire up your team but unless you have a realistic shot of even staying in the game then I would suggest that you SHUT UP! Isaac didn’t seriously think they had a shot to win this game, he must have felt pressured into making this statment to try and keep his team from having a perfect season of their own, a perfect 0-16 season. 0-16 has never been accomplished but the Rams have a good start going so far. I do remember a couple of Detroit Lions teams that tried real hard to go 0-16 but even those pathetic teams couldn’t accomplish that lofty goal. Anyway I just love the way Tony Romo plays football; he reminds me of some really great quarterbacks of the past who just loved to play the game.

Being a football fan and a Dallas Cowboys fan makes you also have some teams that you just despise. One of those teams for me is the Denver Broncos. Denver has a sophomore Quarterback named Jay Cutler that they have placed a lot of faith in. I cannot look at that guy and believe that anybody sees a winner in him. Watching Denver get humiliated by the Colts today all I saw out of Culter was a guy who was defeated and barely had a clue what was happening to him. I know he is young but if I were a Broncos fan I would at least hope to see a kid with some fire and grit. Cutler has absolutely no fire and no enthusiasm for playing football. Maybe he has a great arm but look at any of these pictures and tell me this is the guy you would want leading your team. I defy anyone to tell me that this kid will ever be anything more than mediocre.

Jay Cutler of the Denver Broncos.is jay cutler mildly retarded?jay-cutler.jpgJay cutler is retared
Without question I also cannot stand the Green Bay Packers, damn cheese wearing fools. But today I will say congratulations to Bret Favre (pronounced Fav-ray). Much unlike Jay Cutler, Brett has a passion for the game and even though he doesn’t always win at least he does his best, and his team has confidence that he will never give up. I like him much better when he is throwing interceptions and losing games but my hat is off to him on this day when he becomes the all time leader in touchdown passes thrown. Congratulations Brett! This will be his final year in the league (thank God) and very soon Peyton Manning will hold this record but for today only I will give you the credit that you deserve.

What is wrong with the San Diego Chargers? Very simply everything that is wrong with the charges is named Norv Turner. As a Cowboy fan I have to say that Norv was and probably still is a great offensive coordinator but as a head coach he is a miserable failure that is absolutely clueless. Give me Marty ball any day of Norv losses. The end of last season when the Chargers lost to New England was more than the franchise could handle and boy did they make some drastic mistakes. I guess that they thought the talent that they had on the field could overcome any obstacle but they had no idea the level of incompetence that Norv had in store for them. Was the Charger management not around when Norv was leading the Redskins? Were they really that blinded by the calls for Marty’s head? They sure are paying for it now, and deservedly so.

Living in Arizona will also make you HATE and I do mean HATE the Cardinals. I like Matt Leinart, because he has that enthusiastic winner’s attitude but they are still the Cardinals, and I love to watch them lose. Today the Cardinals beat the 3-0 Steelers, and all I can say about that is HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! And to all of you Steelers fans that thought they should have won Super Bowl XXX against the Cowboys, all I can say is Neil O’Donnell. See Below!

Part 3 of the perfect season

The Cowboys proved tonight that they are an absolute force on offense. It’s not often that you see teams overcome a great defense and either crappy or crooked referees and put up 34 points. The refs for this game were either the worst bunch of blind idiots I have ever seen, or quite possibly paid off by the loser Bears. Illegal block in the back? Offensive pass interference? Not calling when Romo got slapped in the head and 2 very obvious horse collar tackles should be enough for these guys to lose their jobs. At minimum the league should look into their financial backgrounds to find the payments they have been receiving from the Chicago Bears. This was a statement made to the entire NFC that the road to the Super Bowl is going through Dallas this year.

Andrea Kramer interviewed Tony Romo and Terrell Owens after the game and Tony was too weak to say this was a statement game for the team, but Terrell stood up and stated “statement made”. Andrea then followed up by asking what the statement was and Terrell immediately backed down and didn’t give us what we wanted. Terrell scooted around the question when he should have said “this proves we are the premier team in the NFC”. Damn it Terrell why are you all of a sudden afraid to speak your mind? If it’s true and you are thinking it then just say it. Oh well it was a great win and there is no doubt that Dallas in back in top form. Go Cowboys!
